HistoryFounded in 1991, Dart Maritime Service, Inc. (D.M.S.) was created as a "high service", "low cost" provider for companies in the maritime industry, offering such traditional services as Tariff Publishing, Watching and Pricing, Research, Regulatory Consultation and Page Distribution, along with a PC-based electronic tariff product.
Products and Services
In the fall of 1995, D.M.S. expanded it's scope to include a range of products and services designed to help maritime industry companies launch into Internet based services, utilizing custom designed web sites enhanced with customer-service related products such as booking confirmation, rate request proposals, cargo tracking and electronic document transmission.
In November of 2000, D.M.S. expanded it's offering to include trade compliance services which are designed to help small to mid-sized forwarders and consolidators comply with increased automation and data processing requirements. The initial service encompasses electronic preparation and filing of Shipper Export Declarations (SEDs) with the Automated Export System (AES).
Dart Maritime Service, Inc. is located in Charlotte, NC and provides services for over 250 NVOCCs, Forwarders and Steamship Lines.
