November 1, 2000, ocean carriers began charging $100 for each
Shipper Export Declaration (SED) submitted on paper with an export
shipment. Exporting companies can avoid this charge by using Dart Maritime
Service's AES SED Filing Service to confidentially submit their
client's SED data into the Automated Export System (AES).
Here's how it works:
for the service by completing a Power of Attorney, authorizing Dart Maritime
as your filing agent for the submission of SED data. FAX or E-mail your SED and
our staff will prepare the information in an EDI format for
submission to the AES system and send you the confirming XTN number for
inclusion on the shipment documentation.
Your client's shipment is now in compliance with export regulations,
except where additional license or reporting information may be required.
Dart Maritime staff will communicate any additional AES system
messages as required. Pricing
is $17.50 per SED submitted, with additional discounts available for
customers utilizing our Tariff Publishing services.
